Biography

Samuel Rinnetmäki is a hobbyist programmer interested in the role of sensors and APIs in the digital transformation hype and future ecosystems. His projects include smart watch applications, public transit information interfaces, and a self-tracking software suite.

Apart from the data available through APIs he also uses spreadsheets and self-made software to collect information about his mood, time use, expenses, consumption of energy, gasoline, water etc.

Samuel has been active in the Open Knowledge Finland’s MyData working group for several years. He likes to participate in collaborative projects and hackathons. He crowdfunds projects and invests minor amounts of money in cool startups.

Samuel has a background in software engineering, identity and access management, enterprise integration and IT strategy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s degree in leadership. He currently works as an Enterprise Architect in the Finnish Centre for Pensions. He is also a board member in the internet service provider Sange. In the rare occasions when he’s not working, playing with his kids or programming, he sails an F18 catamaran.
